The ss Uganda was built in 1952 in Glasgow, Scotland. The ship originally sailed a regular service between London and East-Africa. When the traffic on the line declined the Uganda was converted to an educational cruise ship with accommodation for 920 passengers. In 1986 the ship was sold and rechristened Triton. Eventually the ship was scrapped in 1992 in Taiwan. This ship was berthed in Antwerp in August 1973.

The cruise ship TS Hamburg was docked in Antwerp for the first time in August 1973. The ship of the German company ‘German Atlantic Line’ has a length of 195 metres and can accommodate 790 passengers. During the ‘80s & ‘90s the ship also visited Antwerp under the name Maxim Gorkiy. She was scrapped in 2009 on the beach of Alang in India. This ship was berthed in Antwerp in August 1973.
