Balmoral
was
built
in
1988
as
Crown
Odyssey
for
Royal
Cruise
line.
In
1966
the
ship
was
sold
to
Norwegian
Cruise
Line
(NCL)
and
was
renamed
to
Norwegian
Crown.
In
2007
the
ship
was
taken
over
by
Fred.
Olsen
Cruise
Lines
and
the
name
was
changed
to
MS
Balmoral.
During
the
transfer
between
the
companies
the
ship
was
lengthened
with
30
metres.
The
ship
was
cut
in
two
for
this
after
which
the
new
section
was
placed
in
between.
The
completely
white
ship
has
gotten
repainted
with
a
grey
hull
at
the
end
of 2015 to fit the new house style of the cruise line.
