This year the Europa 2, the best cruise ship in the world, according to the Berlitz Cruise Guide, visited Antwerp
once again. The ship has a length of 225 metres and can accommodate 516 passengers. Until April 24th the
Europa 2 was docked at the ship yard Blohm+Voss in the German city of Hamburg. There the ship received its
biennial refurbishement.

year.
The
ship
has
a
length
of
112
metres
and
can
accommodate
148
passengers.
In
1982
the
ship
was
built
as
MS
Midnatsol
for
the
Norwegian
postal service Hurtigruten. Originally the ship had an open aft but later the upper decks were extended.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 5 May 2015.
Astor
TransOcean Kreuzfahrten
After
the
call
of
2013
the
Astor
was
once
again
docked
in
Antwerp.
In
2014
Cruise
&
Maritime
Voyages
(CMV)
bought
the
ship
after
Premicon,
the
owner
of
the
ship,
went
bankrupt.
Now
the
ship
sails
partly
for
CMV
and
partly
for
Transocean
Kreuzfahrten.
In
1982
the
was
built
in
Germany.
MS
Astor
has
a
length
of
176
metres
and
can accommodate 650 passengers.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 7 May 2015.
Seabourn Quest
Seabourn
The
luxury
cruise
yacht
Seabourn
Quest
was
once
again
docked
in
Antwerp
this
year.
The
ship
is
the
3th
one
of
the
Seabourn
Odyssey-class
and
was
built
in
2011.
The
198
metres
long
ship
can
accommodate
450
passengers and has 335 crew members on obard.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 25 May 2015.
Balmoral

The
Balmoral
has
a
length
of
218
metres
and
is
part
of
the
fleet
of
Fred.
Olsen
Cruise
Lines.
This
ship
is
the
largest
in
the
fleet.
Before
Fred.
Olsen
bought
the
ship
it
sailed
for
Norwegian
Cruise
Line.
During
the
conversion
the
ship
was
stretched
by
30
metres.
Due
to
the
lengthening
the
ship
could
accommodate
163
passengers more. In the december the ship will make another call for a visit to the christmas market.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 29 & 30 May 2014.
Magellan
Cruise & Maritime Voyages
The
new
flagship
from
Cruise
&
Maritime
Voyages
was
docked
in
Antwerp
for
the
first
time
on
June
6th.
The
ship
will
make
a
total
of
5
calls
this
year
in
Antwerp.
In
1985
the
ship
was
built
for
the
American
cruise
giant
Carnival Cruise Lines. Magellan has a length of 222 metres and can accommodate 1450 passengers.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 6 June 2015.
Europa

This
year
the
culinary
event
Europa’s
Beste
took
once
again
place
on
board
the
MS
Europa
in
Antwerp.
It
is
already
the
11th
time
Hapag-Lloyd
organizes
the
event.

The
Silver
Whisper
has
a

members.
The
ship
was
built
in
2000
at
the
Mariotti
Shipyard
in
Genoa, Italy.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 6 September 2015.
Corinthian
Grand Circle Cruise Line
The
little
expedition
cruise
ship
MV
Corinthian
docked
in
Antwerp
for
the
very
first
time
this
year.
The
ship
has
been
built
in
1990
for
Renaissance
Cruises
as
Renaissance
4.
Later
the
ship
was
sold
and
renamed
Clelia
II
and
later Orion II.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 12 & 13 September 2015.
Oriana
P&O Cruises
Oriana
was
once
again
docked
in
Antwerp
this
year.
The
ship
was
once
again
diverted
to
the
Leopolddok
due
to
her
draft
being
too
high.
Together
with
Oriana
Europa
was
also
docked
in
Antwerp.
In
early
2015
Oriana
was
repainted in the new house style of P&O and received an enormous Union Jack on the bow.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 17 October 2015.
Marco Polo
Cruise & Maritime Voyages
This
year
Marco
Polo
was
docked
in
Antwerp
for
the
18th
time.
The
ship
also
celebrated
its
golden
jubilee
for
sailing
around
the
world
for
50
years.
In
1965
it
started
its
carrier
as
Alexandr
Pushkin.
The
176
metres
long
ship has become a veteran in the cruise industry.
This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 26 October 2015.
