The oldest cruise ship in the World, MS Astoria, once again opened the cruise season this year. The 70-year-old ship was built as MS Stockholm in 1948 and was also docked in Antwerp under that name in 1958 during a visit of the world exhibition in Brussels. MS Astoria has a length of 160 metres and can accommodate 550 passengers. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 10 March 2018.

The cruise ship Balmoral of the British company Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines was once again docked in Antwerp. At the monten (April 2018) Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is reapinting the hull of th ship in dark blue. Last year the ship was still dark grey. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 28 & 29 April 2018.

The expedition cruise ship MS Hanseatic of the German cruise line Hapag-Lloyd Cruises was docked in Antwerp for the last time in 2018. In October 2018 the ship will be handed over to One Ocean Cruises and will start sailing as RCGS Resolute. MS Hanseatic has a length of 123 metres and can accommodate184 passengers. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 7 and 8 May 2018.

AIDAvita was docked in Antwerp for the first time in 2018. It had been six years since AIDA Cruises visited the city. The 203 metres long cruise ship stayed overnight and used this opportunity to hold an extensive safety screening. Part of this was testing the liferafts, which were deployed on the river. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 8 and 9 May 2018.

MS Azamara Journey visited Antwerp again in June 2018 after six years. During her absence the hip was repainted with a dark blue hull. The 181 metres long ship can accommodate 450 passengers and was built in 2000 as R Six for Renaissance Cruises. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 18 & 19 June 2018.

MS Europa of the German company Hapag-Lloyd Cruises was once again docked in Antwerp this year. On board the 14th edition of the culinary event ‘Europa’s Beste’ took place. Twelve star chefs with a total of 21 Michelinstars presented their best dishes to the passengers. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 24 & 25 June 2018.

The luxury cruise ship Seven Seas Navigator docked in Antwerp for the second time this year. Last year the ship arrived in thick fog, but this year it basked in the morning sunlight during the arival . Seven Seas Navigator has a length of 171 metres and can accommodate 490 passengers. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 21 July 2018.

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises

This year MS Europa 2, the best cruise ship in the World according to the Berlitz Cruise Guide, was once again docked in Antwerp. The ship has a length of 225 metres and can accommodate 516 passengers. The ship was built at the French shipyard STX Europe, in Saint-Nazaire in 2013. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 25 July 2018.

MS Astor was once again docked in Antwerp. In 2014 Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) bought the ship after Premicon, the owner of the ship, went bankrupt. Now the ship sails partly for CMV and partly for TransOcean Kreuzfahrten. In 1982 the was built in Germany. MS Astor has a length of 176 metres and can accommodate 650 passengers. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 28 July 2018.

Le Lapérouse

Le Lapérouse was docked in Antwerp for the first time this year and is the first of six expedition cruise ships that will be built for the French cruise company Ponant. Le Lapérouse is also the very first ship with an underwater lounge which enables passengers to look through a window below the waterline and experience the sea and its sounds. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 3 September 2018.

The Silver Wind was docked in Antwerp again this year. The ship was built in 1994 at the Mariotti-Yard in Italy. Silver Wind is a sister ship of the Silver Cloud. The ship has a length of 156 metres and can accommodate 315 passengers. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 13 September 2018.

Prinsendam
Holland America Line

This luxury cruise ship of Holland America Line has a length of 205 metres and can accommodate 790 passengers. The ship sails under the Dutch flag and is registered in Rotterdam. MS Prinsendam was also docked in Antwerp in the past as Seabourn Sun and Royal Viking Sun. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 17 & 18 September 2018.

The cruiseschip MS Pacific Princess of the American company Princess Cruises was docked in Antwerp for the first time on September 27th 2018. The 181 metres long ship is the smallest ship of the fleet. Since last year you can find the logo of the cruise line on the bow of the ship. In 2016 Princess Cruises decided to repaint all their ships with the so-called ‘Sea Witch’ on the bow. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 27 September 2018.

Seabourn Ovation

On Wednesday October 3rd Antwerp welcomed the fourth and last ‘maiden call’ for this year. MS Seabourn Ovation of the American luxury cruise line Seabourn visited Antwerp as the fourth cruise ship that visited the city for the first time this year. It is one of the most luxurious cruise ships in the world. With its length of 211 metres and maximum capacity of 600 guests it presented a very spacious ship to the passengers. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 3 October 2018.

Magellan

The flag ship of Cruise & Maritime Voyages was once again docked in Antwerp at the end of October. In 1985 the ship was built for the American cruise giant Carnival Cruise Lines. MS Magellan has a length of 222 metres and can accommodate 1450 passengers. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 26 October 2018.

Columbus

MS Columbus was docked three times in Antwerp this year, two of which were Christmas cruises. With 247 metres MS Columbus is the largest ship of the year. It can accommodate 1400 passengers and 700 passengers. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 1 November 2018.

Pont-Aven
Brittany Ferries

The cruise -ferry Pont-Aven once again visited Antwerp this year. The ship can accommodate 2500 passengers and 650 vehicles. Brittany Ferries is sailing two special holiday cruises to Antwerp and Honfleur. Pont-Aven is the first cruise-ferry to ever dock in Antwerp. This ship was berthed in Antwerp on 25 & 26 December 2018.
